About Us

This blogsite is the creative effort of two individuals: Perry J Greenbaum, a writer; and S.L. Levy, a photographer. Both reside in Montreal, and are natives of the city. Both have stories to tell.

Perry J Greenbaum: "I am a Montreal-based blogger, writer, essayist, journalist and humanitarian. My formal education has been in the sciences, engineering, English literature and journalism. My interest in discovery, learning and seeing is, of course, continuing, as it ought to. I enjoy various kinds of music, from classical to rock, from jazz to klezmer; and all kinds of visual arts.

"In my professional life as a writer, I have written hundreds of articles, features and profiles, chiefly for trade publications and for the business press. It has been a fruitful experience, in that I was able to earn a living doing what I love—writing. And I continue to write, but for a different medium, and likely a different audience.

"My hope is to tell some tales, or stories of some Montreal visual and performing artists, some who are widely known and others who are not."

SL Levy: "I am a Montreal-based photographer with 30 + years of experience. I have remained at heart an amateur with a naïve and humble approach to photography. I believe that the best photographs are not planned or composed in advance. I also believe that the combination of words and pictures together can communicate more powerfully than either alone.

"I photograph both to remember and to understand. My main focus is on people and as Alfred Eisenstaedt once said, 'It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter.' I love music, travel and exploration. "
